“The simple answer would be because it gave me an answer to a pressing problem. I am an iMac user who was using Family Tree Maker 3 and Ancestry. I was very unhappy with their decision to move to a wholly cloud based solution and withdraw support for desk top software at very short notice. As they steadfastly refused to accommodate the thousands of us that complained I felt duped, unvalued and foolish for trusting them. I put considerable effort into looking for at replacement options, which had to be desktop based software and files, finally I decided on the combination of Reunion 11 and The Genealogist. To date I have found it a very good combination and as I become more experienced will probably appreciate it more. So my satisfaction is increasing with use.”
